The NECA program, which is being implemented at Norwalk High School, will combine high school and college courses in technology for students in grades 9 to 14. Completion of the curriculum will allow students to graduate with a high school diploma and a no-cost associate’s degree in applied science.

The program will be held in Norwalk High School and the most successful graduates will be first in line for jobs at IBM, which designed the model in which the academy is based. Students do not have to go through a testing or screening process to be admitted into the academy “We are very pleased to have BeFoundation as a partner in developing the NECA,” said Manuel J. Rivera, superintendent of Norwalk Public Schools. “We welcome BeFoundation’s commitment to Norwalk and their emphasis on making sure all students are prepared to reach their highest potential.”
