'Annie' Hits The Stage For Two Weekends At Norwalk High School

NORWALK, Conn. – The music department at Norwalk High School opens its version of the beloved hit “Annie” on Friday night.

The musical, based on the popular Harold Gray comic strip “Little Orphan Annie,” is choreographed by Norwalk High seniors Shay LaRusso and Margo Libre.

Susan Pettibone and Lois Benfield are directing a cast of 55 students in the musical.

Annie is a young orphan in a 1930s orphanage, and with the help of other girls she escapes to explore New York City.

Annie exposes the orphanage’s cruel matron, Miss Hannigan. She finds a new home and family while going on other adventures such as befriending President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Performances will be held as follows.

  • 8 p.m. Friday, April 24
  • 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25
  • 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26
  • 8 p.m. Friday, May 1
  • 8 p.m. Saturday, May 2
  • 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3

Tickets are $15 when purchased in advance.
