Seawall Fortifies $7.8M Rowayton Island Home

ROWAYTON, Conn. - When it comes to privacy, nothing beats the pure isolation that comes from island living. Look no further than 18 Rocky Point Road in Rowayton, where a waterfront property is for sale for $7.8 million.

The home, on Bell Island, offers water views from each of its 15 rooms, which include five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There are coffered, 10-foot ceilings and antique oak floors throughout the home, which also features walls of windows, four fireplaces, custom moldings and lead-covered copper gutters.

Don’t fear proximity to the Long Island Sound. This home, built in 2005, has a newly installed seawall that runs along the waterfront, as well as a four-foot thick waterproof stone foundation, which was used to create the subterranean wine cellar.

The master bedroom has French doors to a private deck and a separate sitting room – complete with a fireplace and exquisite water views, including sunsets over the skyline of Manhattan.
