Services Set For Jean Strobel, 54, Paraprofessional At Trumbull School

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Jean M. Clancy Strobel, a paraprofessional at Middlebrook School in Trumbull, died Friday, June 2, at her home in Trumbull. She was 54.

Born Nov. 28, 1962, in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the wife of Barry Strobel and a daughter of Arlene Weinman Clancy of Westbury, N.Y., and the late Frank Clancy.

A graduate of Oswego State University, Strobel was a Para-Professional at Middlebrook School in Trumbull. An avid sports fan, she rooted for the New York Rangers. 

She is also survived by two children, Colleen Strobel of Chicago and Brendan Strobel of Trumbull; siblings Peter Clancy and his wife Christine of New York, Patrick Clancy of Nevada, Christine Herrmann and her husband Guy of North Carolina, Victoria Clancy of New York, and Barbara Ginsberg and her husband Jonathan of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends. 

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Frank Clancy.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 8, at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. 

Memorial donations may be made to Team Bright Pink online. Donations will benefit her daughter Colleen’s team that will be running in the New York City Marathon on Nov. 5 in honor of her mother.
