Accidents On Hutch, Cross County, Bronx River Parkways Cause Gridlock

A car fire and two accidents have resulted in gridlock conditions on parkways in Southern Westchester Monday afternoon.

There is stopped traffic on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway at East Lincoln Avenue (Exit 12) in Mount Vernon with delays back to Pelhamdale Avenue (Exit 14) following a 3:35 p.m.crash that initially took out the right lane.

An earlier vehicle fire on the eastbound Cross County Parkway, reported at 3:30 p.m., caused gridlock at the Bronx River Parkway (Exit 6) in Mount Vernon.

Farther north, the right lane of the southbound Bronx River Parkway was initially blocked at Crane Road in Scarsdale (Exit 12) in an incident reported at 3:40 p.m.
