Edward Ford, who authorities said is single and works in the pharmaceutical industry, was being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with child endangerment – specifically, possession and distribution of child pornography.

He has an initial appearance in Pascack Joint Municipal Court tomorrow.

Ford, who lives in an apartment complex on North Island Road, was arrested by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit and Woodcliff Lake police.

A unit member on loan from Woodcliff Lake initiated the probe, which uncovered photos and videos of “pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts.” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said earlier this evening.

Police also seized a small amount of marijuana during the arrest, for which Ford also was charged, the prosecutor said.

Besides Woodcliff Lake, Molinelli said, the Ramsey and Upper Saddle River police departments contributed personnel to the specialized unit.
