Carlucci states:

“For the past three years, I have worked toward solutions to stop toll evaders who are robbing our state of $16.5 million in revenue. Now, thanks to Gov. Cuomo, the New York DMV will finally have the enforcement power to suspend the vehicle registration of motorists who persistently evade tolls.

“This lost revenue could go towards funding improvements to New York's aging infrastructure. We must ensure that New Yorkers are not on the hook to make up the difference for scofflaws, and this tough regulation will make toll evaders think twice before crossing any one of our state's bridges.

“I applaud Gov. Cuomo for taking this much needed action, and am committed to working towards long-term solutions. Creating a resident discount for Rockland and Westchester motorists, enacting a toll tax credit and consolidating the Thruway and Bridge Authorities are additional commonsense solutions to tackle this problem.”
