Metro-North Adds Trains For St. Patrick's Day Parade

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Metro-North riders from Fairfield County who are heading to New York City for the St. Patrick's Day parade Saturday should be able to find seats.

Metro-North will operate extra trains in addition to the regular Saturday schedule to and from the parade on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines. In addition, trains will have extra cars.

On the New Haven Line, the following inbound service changes will be in effect: 

  • The 8:46 a.m. from New Haven will stop at Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Westport and Harlem-125th Street and arrive at Grand Central at 10:22 a.m.
  • The 9:21 a.m. from New Haven will stop at Milford, Bridgeport and Harlem-125th Street and arrive at Grand Central at 10:54 a.m.

  • The 9:48 a.m. from New Haven will stop at Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Westport and Harlem-125th Street and arrive at Grand Central at 11:24 a.m.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at 44th Street, just two blocks from Grand Central. 

Alcohol will not be allowed on trains, platforms and at stations Saturday. MTA Police will enforce this ban, Metro-North said.

The following outbound extra trains will operate on the New Haven Line:

  • The 3:55 p.m. train from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, South Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro, Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford and arrive in New Haven at 5:33 p.m.
  • The 4:57 p.m. from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro, Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford and arrive in New Haven at 6:34 p.m.
  • The 5:57 p.m. from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro, Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford and arrive in New Haven at 7:34 p.m.
