Food Bank For Westchester Honors Board Presidents At Valentine's Day Dinner

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- In honor of 25 years, Food Bank for Westchester saluted its board presidents at the annual Valentine's Day Wine Tasting Dinner on Friday, Feb. 7 at Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown.

The Food Bank’s "Salute to Leadership" recognized the combined contribution and service of the following former and current board presidents: Joseph Masterson (1988-1990); the Rev. John Duffell (1991- 1992); Joel Mounty (1993-1994); Patricia Murphy (1995-1997); William Harrington (1998-2000); William Bernstein (2001-2003); Robert Redis (2004-2007); Spencer Barback (2008-2010); and current board chair, Rick Rakow (2011-present).

“For 25 years, the Food Bank for Westchester has been leading the charge to end hunger and improving lives across the county,” said Ellen Lynch, executive director. “We are proud to salute the dedication and efforts of all of our volunteers and board members, past and present.”

The evening featured a five-course gourmet meal with selected wine pairings, created for the event by culinary host and sponsor, Abigail Kirsch Catering Relationships’ Partner Alison Awerbuch and Executive Chef John d’Arcangelo. The wines were donated by Pernod Ricard, USA, wine and spirits sponsor. The evening also included a wine raffle and live auction.

All proceeds generated at the event benefited the Food Bank, the supply and support center for more than 265 hunger-relief member programs throughout Westchester including food pantries, soup kitchens, senior and child day-care centers, shelters and residences.

The Gold Sponsor was Greenfield Stein & Senior; Silver Sponsors were BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Hewlett Packard, Morgan Stanley, Rakow Commercial Realty Group, Inc., and Stop & Shop; Bronze Sponsors were First Niagara Bank, Mack-Cali and Webster Bank.
