Frog Takes Over Bronxville Library

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - A Bossy Frog took over the Bronxville Library Tuesday night and a whole lot of people there liked it.

The frog, also known as musician Jeffrey Friedberg, entertained more than 150 children and their families at a free concert. Friedberg has a background as a music therapist who has worked with children with special needs.

Friedberg won rave reviews from grandfather Michael Billie and his two year old granddaughter Madison, of Bronxville.

"It was great, he was very good and we had a great time," Billie said.

The concert is part of the children's summer reading program, which began on June 21 and will continue until August 22.

According to librarian Gessy John, the library will host a concert every Tuesday until August 2.

Next up will be Global Sounds on Tuesday July 19.

The summer reading program encourages young readers to learn about each of the seven continents over the summer. There are books and games each and prizes for all participants.

The library has similar themed summer reading programs for teens and adults as well.

"We encourage the kids to take advantage of these summer programs, and we love to see them here each week," John said.
