Fairfield Police: Man Living With Wife Was Violating Restraining Order

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - A man sharing a house with his wife who had a restraining order against him was arrested after the living arrangement was reported Wednesday by an employee of the Department of Children and Families, Fairfield police said.

Officers responded to a home on Kings Highway East and found Matthew Makar, 26, who had been living at the residence with the mother of his 2-year-old son, police said. 

The woman told officers that she had the restraining order against him but was trying to have it removed because they were trying to reconcile, police said.

Makar been living in the house for four months, police said. 

Police charged Makar with violating a restraining order. He was held on $25,000 bond and taken to court on Dec. 12. No information regarding his appearance was available.
