FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- HGTV’s hit reality show “House Hunters Renovation” will feature Nicholas H. Fingelly Real Estate agent James Millington as he shows homes in Fairfield and Norwalk on Saturday, Aug. 23.
The nationwide cable show will air at 10 p.m. and is titled “First Time Homebuyers Take On An Over-The-Top Renovation.”
The episode features a young couple seeking their first home. They were shown multiple homes and narrowed their search to three. The viewers will see all three homes and watch as the couple decide among two homes in Fairfield and one in Norwalk. After closing on their new home, the couple worked with HDTV designers to renovate the house and turn it into their dream home.
Millington is a lifelong Fairfield resident with over 15 years of experience as a Realtor. He services a wide array of clients ranging from first-time homebuyers and investors to large estate sales in all price ranges.
He was sought out by producers, who were casting for the show and looking for versatile agents with strong reputations in the community and a diversified list of clients. Millington was able to find clients who fit the show’s criteria and were strong candidates for television.
“I was thrilled to have the opportunity to not only find my clients the perfect home but to have it renovated for them by HGTV," Millington said. "We had a great time working together and had many laughs during our filming.”
The show features Millington’s clients, Eric and Erin Harkrader.
HGTV released the following description of the episode: “Newlyweds Eric and Erin have been living with roommates to save money for their first home. They're now ready to ditch their frat lifestyle and set out on their own, but agreeing on what house to buy may cause a hiccup in their marital bliss. While they disagree on architectural style, they share the same love for entertaining and wanting a kitchen that's big enough for both of them to cook in.
"After much bickering and debate, they agree on a cozy single-family home with good bones and begin demolition right away. Looking for a design plan and details that are a little outside the box, they turn to seasoned designer Samantha Knapp. With Sam's vivid imagination and keen sense of color and style, their house is transformed from a bland box to a stunning retreat, but getting there is no easy task. The road to perfection is paved with perspiration, pitfalls and plenty of ups and downs. In the end all the shenanigans cease and the renovation comes together for a fanciful masterpiece like you've never seen before.”
Millington and his clients will be viewing the episode for the first time at his Fairfield home on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10 p.m.
