Wood received 5,601 votes in Darien, compared to Werner's 1,966 votes. The final Rowayton numbers were not available Tuesday night, but Wood won there, according to Norwalk Town Clerk Rick McQuaid.

Republican Wood was seeking her third term to the Connecticut House of Representatives. Before spending four years in Hartford, she was a member of several Darien organizations, including the Representative Town Meeting, the Republican Town Committee and the Person-to-Person Advisory Board. She is also one of the co-founders of the Darien Environmental Group.

Democrat Werner ran on a platform of wanting to change the state’s affordable housing laws. Werner, a lawyer, has worked for the Connecticut Supreme Court for the Reporter of Judicial Decisions, as an associate at Brady, Tamoney, Willard and Alexander, and general counsel for FW Enterprises.
