FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A video of an Amtrak train zooming perilously close to U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) is getting big hits on YouTube.com.

Blumenthal was attending a press conference last Friday about train safety on the train platform in Milford when the incident occurred.

Milford Mayor Ben Blake was speaking about commuter safety when an approaching train passed, knocking over one of Blumenthal's signs.

The incident was recorded by a number of television cameras. Watch it above.

Too bad the locomotive driver didn't have his elbow, or better yet, his fist sticking out of the window.

I bet he thought the yellow line is where U are suppose to stand...lol

Incumbents better get ready for the train wreck coming next election!

Unfortunate outcome.

Of course I would not like to see him hit by a train. That is just wise-guy rhetoric on my part.

Not nearly as dangerous as all those bullets he dodged in Vietnam. Oh, wait...

Blumenthal obviously doesn't know where NOT to stand. I'd be surprised if he has ever actually taken the train like a regular commuter.

This is a great video! Demonstrates clearly "liberal safety"
