The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 10-7 on Wednesday to approve a resolution supporting a limited strike against Syria. U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., voted against the measure.
The resolution prohibits use of ground troops and limits the duration of air strikes against Syria to 60 days. The House and Senate are slated to vote next week on it. If it passes, it would give President Barack Obama the power to a launch a military attack against Syria in response to its use of chemical weapons on its own citizens in a civil war.
