Well Ken P, apparently sheridazz and david were wondering where Obama was. And does his presence matter? Absolutely. As President he had a job to do, both before AND after Sandy...and he did it.
You say he has done nothing except talk for the past four years. By saying that you choose to ignore over 300 filibusters by the "Say NO" party, and all the other obstructionist tactics they've employed in order to make Obama look like a failure. These tactics have not gone unnoticed by the public, and only those who worship FOX and the gasbags Limbaugh & Beck remain brainwashed.
Even if your corporate shill Rmoney gets elected (getting more doubtful by the minute), you can expect the democrats to employ the same sandbagging techniques in order to make Mitty look like an even BIGGER failure. You know what they say about payback.
Who cares where he has been after the storm? Does his presence matter at all? I dont think so, I think its just more evidence of incompetence. He has a country to run, one would think that would keep him too busy to go sight see. The problem with Obama has nothing to do with Sandy, the infrastructure to deal with things like this is in place and independent of him. The problem with him is he has done NOTHING but talk & gesture for the past 4 years while spending us into oblivion.
You folks really need to turn on a radio more often or get a serious clue. President Obama has been on top of the affected states even before Sandy blew ashore. Maybe you conveniently missed Gov Christie praising the President after he went there to survey the damage and offer whatever help New Jersey needed.
The reason he didn't go to New York was simple. Mayor Bloomberg asked him to stay away because the logistics of a visit there were more than their infrastructure could handle. EVERY governor of the most seriously affected states has praised the President for his action in coordinating FEMA and other government agencies in responding to the storm.
The problem is not with Obama. It's your blind hatred of him that is destroying this country.
If your sorry butt is offended because he didn't come to YOUR house and offer sympathy well boo hoo. You're probably one of the people who rail against the government right up until the moment (after a storm like Sandy) when you're at the head of the line whining for assistance.
You've got that wrong...I do not need assistance. Do you really think President Obama would have listened to Bloomberg if he really wanted to get to NY? Since when did he listen to anyone except himself? How about a fly over? He did it once...he could have done it again. Our area is a mess with months if not years to fully recover.
I am not offended and don't need sympathy. Our neighborhood pulled together during the outage. We didn't whine...we knew that we'd make it on our own. Fortunately we don't need FEMA aid. Leave it for the people who are truly in a bind and without shelter or funds to seek it.
Where is the President during this horrendous time in the Northeast...NY, NJ and CT hasn't seen him even for a minute. Don't we count or do votes count more.
The devastation is so widespread and he is off stomping for votes...he only comes to this area to raise money. I hope his supporters realize they were just used for BIG bucks.
I agree with you Sheridazz, where is our president at? Shouldnt he be helping and assisting the citizens of the United States? But no, he is more interested in getting votes and gaining campaign money which should actually be going to those poor folks who lost homes and family members in the storm that he didnt plan for. The only thing he really did was be seen with the Gov. of NJ, spoke at the Red Cross and be flown back to his campaining.
He probably things that the N.E. states are blue so it shouldnt really matter...hopefully the swing states see this type of nonsense and vote him out of office.
