NORWALK, Conn.—The Norwalk Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 830, announced Friday that it would again endorse Democrat Harry Rilling for Norwalk mayor.
This endorsement was a unanimous vote of the Norwalk Fire Fighters Association during its most recent meeting, based on the recommendation of its executive board.
“Mayor Rilling has a long career in public service, which includes time in the military, many years with the Norwalk Police Department and now as our mayor,” said Elefterios Petrides, president of the Norwalk Fire Fighters Association.
“During his first term in office, he has been a champion in the area of public safety, and he continues to work hard to improve the level of service the Fire Department provides. We believe he is the best person for the job and fully support his campaign for re-election.”
“Norwalk firefighters risk their lives every day to protect our city and make it a safer place,” said Rilling. “As mayor for the past two years, I have worked by their side to support them. It gives me great pride that they are confident in my leadership of this city.”
