“With over 30 years of corporate and consulting experience as a communications professional, Diane Winston will bring an unparalleled skillset to the Lottery’s Board of Directors,” said Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff (D-Norwalk).

Winston established her strategic business communications consulting firm, Winston Strategic Partners, in 2005. The firm specializes in defining and implementing strategies to inform and ready stakeholders impacted by change management initiatives; conducting professional talent development seminars and individual coaching sessions in presentation and communication skills, business writing and team building; and designing, implementing, delivering training and inclusion in the workplace.

“It is my honor to serve on the Lottery’s Board of Directors,” said Winston. “The financial contributions our State Lottery makes to the many programs our communities rely – public health, libraries, public safety, education and more – fuels my passion and effort to promote strong communities for everyone across Connecticut.”

Before establishing her firm, Winston spent 20 years in executive positions with Citibank before moving on to assume the role as director of communications for AXA Equitable’s Information Technology Group.

Under her leadership, Winston Strategic Partners has delivered change management communication strategies for Unilever, Dr. Pepper, Snapple Group and Pitney Bowes; conducted professional talent development workshops at the Professional Leadership and Development Center at the University of Hartford, NYK Lines, Northeast Utilities Systems and the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

In response to client demand, the firm now offers diversity and inclusion services and has delivered custom training workshops in Diversity at Work for the Fusco Corp. and most recently designed a Best in Class Supplier Diversity program for the Connecticut Lottery.

Her professional affiliations include memberships with the International Association of Business Communicators, Small Business Council of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, the American Marketing Association and National Association of Female Executives.

Winston shares her business insights and experiences with prospective and new business owners as a SCORE workshop speaker and business counselor with the Fairfield County, Connecticut chapter; she is a member of the National Black MBA Association (Westchester/Greater Connecticut) and is in her ninth year a mentor in the organization’s Leaders of Tomorrow Program for high school students; and serves as an adult Sunday school group facilitator at her church, Harvest Time International Church, in Greenwich.

Winston has an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in political science from New York University and graduated from the executive education program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. She lives in Norwalk with her husband, Van.
