NORWALK, Conn. --  The Connecticut Working Families Party has endorsed state Reps. Bruce Morris and Chris Perone, both Norwalk Democrats, in their primary bids for re-election.

“Rep. Morris and Rep. Perone have shown time and time again that they are tireless champions of the middle class," Lindsay Farrell, executive director of WFP, said in a statement. "Their work to increase the minimum wage, lower taxes for working families and help pass the Paid Family Sick Leave law makes it abundantly clear how passionate they are about defending working families in Connecticut.”

Connecticut Working Families is an independent political party that advocates for working families across Connecticut.

In the Democratic Party primary on Aug. 12, Morris faces a challenge from at-large Common Council member Warren Peña of Norwalk.

Also in the primary, Perone will face Norwalk Common Council member David Watts, who won the Democratic Party nomination in a May vote.

Makes sense Ct has the worst in many standings now we have Connecticut Working Families Party making a bad call.Lower taxes is a great issue yet in Ct the way we spend that money has been an issue. If the rail and roads are not going to change and have been ignored the ones who have been in Hartford this endorsement is worth nothing.

champions of the middle class leaves out most of us poor people who try every day no matter how hard these reps make it for all of us.

Paid Family Sick Leave law just gives the employer another reason to leave the state at this point a tipping point law.

I wish Bruce would concern himself with the crime in his own area, two more steet robberies here in Norwalk is not doing much for the working families here in his own backyard. These were during daylight hours people use move to go to work or come home.

These reps have become a joke look at the condition of the State you have to drive thru it to get to Norwalk.

Lets look at the whole picture and not some pre election kudos that has us all wondering what the reps have been doing all these years.
