Cafero Wins Again In Norwalk's 142nd State House District

NORWALK, Conn. — Incumbent state Rep. Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., a Republican, won the race to represent the 142nd House District in West Norwalk, defeating Democrat Kate Tepper in Tuesday's election.

City election officials were still tabulating the vote totals at 11:45 p.m., but according to Town Clerk Rick McQuaid, Cafero received about 55 percent of the vote.

Cafero was seeking his 11th term in the state House. An attorney and partner in the Hartford law firm Brown Rudnick, LLP, Cafero has also served as Republican minority leader for six years and helped usher in 14 new Republican members to the state House in 2010. He is a former chairman of the Norwalk Board of Education.

Tepper is a former pharmaceutical advertising copywriter and medical secretary. She is a former local chairwoman of the National Organization for Women and is currently chairwoman of Democracy for America – Fairfield County. Tepper’s name also appeared on the Working Families line of the ballot.
