Heather Kydon, 31, was charged Monday with third-degree burglary. She was held on $2,500 bond and will appear in court March 5.

On the afternoon of Nov. 28, 2012, the owner of Economy Shoe Repair on Butler Street discovered that someone had smashed the glass window on the front door to the store and entered, police said. The person, who police later identified as Kydon, stole coins out of the cash register, as well as some pairs of leather work boots, wallets and white socks, police said.

The Detective Bureau began investigating and found a fingerprint at the scene, according to police reports. It was identified at the state lab and later came back as a match for Kydon. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Monday, police were contacted by the Woodbridge Police Department, who had taken Kydon into custody. She was transferred to Norwalk police custody and charged with the 2012 burglary.
