Scot F. Fitch, 57, of 82 Slocum St., Norwalk, was stopped at a red light at 920 Danbury Road shortly after 1 p.m. when a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Robert L. J. Nichols, 27, of 2600 Park Ave., Bridgeport, struck Fitch's 2012 Harley Davidson FLHT motorcycle from behind, police said.

An angered Fitch walked over to Nichols, exchanged words with him and then punched his car window, shattering it, police said. When Fitch got back on his motorcycle, a witness said Nichols deliberately hit the motorcycle, police said.

The incident injured Maritsa Baez, 57, a passenger on Fitch's motorcycle, police said. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital with suspected minor injuries, police said.

Fitch was charged with breach of peace, while Nichols was charged with reckless driving. Each was released on a promise to appear in court on July 26.
