Police were called to the store shortly after 2:30 p.m. by one of the loss prevention officers, who reported seeing a man —  later identified as Alvaro Lezcano — stuff clothing down the front of his pants, police say.

When confronted by the loss prevention officer, Lezcano gave up the items he had concealed, pushed past the employee and ran toward the Norwalk border, according to the arrest report. The items Lezcano surrendered included a pair of Levi jeans and and a striped blue shirt, police say.

Lezcano was spotted a short time later near the Department of Motor Vehicles in Norwalk and taken into custody. He was charged with robbery, sixth-degree larceny and possession of shoplifting tools. He was released after posting a $2,500 and is due in court on Jan. 14.
