White Supremacist Fliers Turn Up In Wilton, Weston As Well As Norwalk

WILTON, Conn. — Wilton Police report that they found three of the same white supremacist fliers that were also found in Norwalk and Weston.

Weston Police notified Wilton police that some of the white supremacist fliers had been found in Weston, on the Newtown Turnpike near the Wilton border, Wilton police Lt. Robert Cipolla said Tuesday. Wilton officer went out early Tuesday morning to search the area and found three more of them, he said.

"Our officers went out and discovered these fliers probably before the residents knew they were even there," he said.

He said the fliers appeared to have been placed at random.

"There is no information to indicate specific residences were targeted," Cipolla said.

An investigation is continuing into the fliers, and Cipolla said the Wilton police have notified the FBI. Five of the same fliers were found in Norwalk as well on Monday.

Playing on President Donald Trump's campaign theme of "Make America Great Again" the fliers called to "Make America White Again." The fliers said the white race's existence and the future of white children must be secured.

It also printed the website address of a website run by Mike Enoch, who the Southern Poverty Law Center characterizes as an “alt-right” extremist. Alt-right is a term that describes the white nationalist movement. The website says, “We’re white and we’re not sorry.”
