Nicholas Sitinas, 57, of Pond Road, was charged with breach of peace, interfering with an officer and criminal trespass, police said.
Officers were called to Rizutto’s on Riverside Avenue around 10 p.m. Thursday on a report of an unwanted party, later identified as Sitinas, sitting at the bar. He refused to leave when both staff and officers asked him to, police said.
When Sitinas did eventually leave and officers asked for his identification, he refused and began screaming in the officers’ faces and pushing through them, police said.
At that point, the officers took him to the ground and placed him in handcuffs, while he yelled that he was a doctor, that the officers were “peons” and that he would sue the Police Department, police said.
Several restaurant patrons completed sworn statements documenting Sitinas’ behavior, including that he was making anti-Semitic remarks, police said.
Sitinas was held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 1.
