Officers had to handcuff Charles Vosgueritchian after responding to the home on West Parish at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a disturbance, police said.

Vosgueritchian was found inside the home acting out and appearing to be under the influence of an unknown substance, police said.

As officers were taking him into custody, Vosgueritchian began fighting with them and threatening to kill them, police said. He was ultimately hand-cuffed and taken to an ambulance to be sedated, police said.

Once in the ambulance, Vosgueritchian spit in the face of a paramedic, police said.

He was transported to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation, police said.

After returning from the hospital, Vosgueritchian was charged with three counts of assault on emergency personnel and one count each of interfering with an officer, disorderly conduct and threatening.

His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

In January, Vosgueritchian was charged with tampering with evidence, interfering with an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia after stepping on a crack pipe in front of an officer during a traffic stop, police said.

He was stopped driving south on Interstate 95 without a working left brake light at about 2:15 p.m. Jan. 12, police said. He was stopped, and consented to a body search, police said.

During the search, the officer found in a pipe used for smoking crack cocaine in Vosgueritchian's pocket, police said. The officer put the crack pipe in the trunk of the vehicle and then handcuffed him, police said.

Despite being handcuffed, Vosgueritchian reached into the trunk grabbed the crack pipe, dropped it to the ground and stepped on it breaking it into multiple pieces, police said.
