Update: Pedestrian Hit On West Ave. Ramp, Police Seek Suspect

Update 10:45 a.m.: NORWALK, Conn. -- A 55 year-old man was hit by a car that fled the scene on West Avenue at the I-95 southbound ramp Wednesday morning, according to police.

Norwalk police said that the entrance ramp from West Avenue to Route 7 northbound and I-95 southbound is closed Wednesday morning.

Police responded at 5:22 a.m. on a report of a motor vehicle evading crash. When they arrived, they found the victim in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital.

Police said the suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. Police believe that the vehicle has front-end damage.

The ramp was shut down early Wednesday while police processed the scene. Norwalk officers are investigating a motor vehicle accident with an evading driver involving a pedestrian who was hit, according to police. The vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

Drivers can expect the entrance ramp to remain closed throughout the morning, police said.
