Police responded at 5:22 a.m. on a report of a motor vehicle evading crash. When they arrived, they found the victim in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
Police said the suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. Police believe that the vehicle has front-end damage.
The ramp was shut down early Wednesday while police processed the scene. Original story: NORWALK, Conn. -- The entrance ramp from West Avenue to Route 7 northbound and I-95 southbound in Norwalk is closed during Wednesday's morning rush hour after a pedestrian was struck, police said.
Norwalk officers are investigating a motor vehicle accident with an evading driver involving a pedestrian who was hit, according to police. The vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
Drivers can expect the entrance ramp to remain closed throughout the morning, police said.
