NORWALK, Conn. -- Two Norwalk men survived an accident in which their Toyota Tacoma pickup truck rolled down a steep embankment and sent them plunging into the Norwalk River on Sunday, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Police reported receiving a call that a vehicle was in the water near the Perry Avenue railroad crossing. When the arrived, they found one man had climbed out the truck, but the other was still inside, the Stamford Advocate reported. More than six firefighters, police officers and paramedics used a grip line to climb down the embankment and pull the man from the truck, said the Stamford Advocate.
Police said both men were taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, added the Stamford Advocate.
