Ronny Morel, 18, was charged with first-degree assault and Raimy Morel, 21, was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree assault. Each was held on $100,000 bond and will appear in court Aug. 8.
According to police reports, the stabbing victim was outside the Raimy Market on Ely Avenue on Wednesday night and harassing the patrons. Police said the man was intoxicated and was asked to leave several times but refused.
The Morels, who were employees of the store, asked the man to leave but he followed them into the store, police said. He became angry and tried to hit one of them, at which point Raimy held the victim while Ronny took out a knife and stabbed him multiple times in the chest area, according to police reports.
Officers arrived and detained the Morels while treating the victim, police said. The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
