Jack Corcoran, 26, of Elizabeth Street, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree stalking and breach of peace.
The victim’s brother and his girlfriend, who also live in the Saxon Wood Road home, were coming home from a party shortly before midnight when she saw a man in the bushes and screamed, police said.
The brother, thinking the man was a would-be burglar, chased him into the backyard, following the light from his cellphone, police said.
The brother brought Corcoran to the ground and held him there with the help of a neighbor, while his girlfriend called 911, police said.
The ex-girlfriend, who broke up with Corcoran three months ago, was not in the home during the incident, police said. Her brother told police Corcoran saw them at the party and may have gone to the home thinking his ex-girlfriend was there alone.
The victims said Corcoran has been driving by the house and he has been warned to stay away, police said. Several incidents were not reported to police.
In one instance, the victims said they believe Corcoran broke into the home and left photos of himself and his ex-girlfriend on her bed, police said.
Corcoran refused treatment for injuries he received as he struggled with the brother, police said.
He posted $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court July 3, police said.
