NORWALK, Conn. – A native Norwalker has been sworn in as the city's newest fire inspector.
Tom Raila is a 30-year veteran of the department and previously was assigned to Engine 3 and the department's marine division, Deputy Chief Edward Prescott said in a statement. He is a graduate of Central Catholic High School and has an associate's degree in business. He is attending school at the State's Department of Public Safety to become a certified fire inspector/investigator.
His family and friends were on hand Tuesday to see him sworn during the monthly fire commission meeting.
