Police received three complaints on Wednesday, July 19 of cars being broken into. One resident on Post Road reported that two of his cars, which had been left in the driveway unlocked, were entered overnight and found with their glove boxes open. Nothing is believed to have been taken.
Another Post Road resident reported that he discovered his car had been entered sometime overnight as well. Approximately $20 and an unknown quantity of CD's were missing from the center console, police said. Three other cars had been parked in the driveway, but all were locked and left undisturbed.
That afternoon a resident of Seagate Road reported that he had found his glove box and center console open that morning. The car had been left unlocked and parked in the driveway. The owner reported that a black tray was missing from the center console, but it was later found in a neighbor's driveway.
Police received another pair of reports from Edgewood Road residents on the morning of Friday, July 21. One resident said that two cars left unlocked in the driveway had been entered and the glove boxes had been rifled through, though it appeared nothing had been taken. Another resident reported that three unlocked cars had been entered and rifled through, but again it seems as though nothing was stolen. A fourth car that had been left locked in the driveway was undisturbed.
