The Norwalk Hospital ER called New Canaan police at 2 a.m. May 30 after doctors admitted a "highly intoxicated" 17-year-old girl who had suffered a possible head injury, police said.

She was transported to the ER by friends, not EMS, police said. They told police that the girl had fallen while dancing at a graduation party at a home at 1578 Ponus Ridge Road in New Canaan, police said.

The head injury was not serious, said the doctor, who had contacted the police.

The friends also told police that underage teens were drinking alcohol at the party, which was a graduation party attended by about 20 teens.

At the home, officers found the strong odor of alcohol in the backyard, vomit on the patio and lawn, and an orange ping pong ball for playing beer pong as well as clear garbage bags filled with empty cans of Budweiser and empty bottles of Mike's Hard Lemonade.

Based on the evidence, warrants were granted for the arrest of Jim Vos, 54, his daughter Sophie Vos, 18, and his son, Hayden Vos, 22, police said.

On June 26, Jim Vos turned himself in to police and was charged with failure to halt possession of alcohol by a minor. He was freed on $2,500 bond for a July 10 appearance at Norwalk Superior Court.

On June 27, Sophie Vos, whose high school graduation was being celebrated at the party, turned herself in to police and was charged with permitting a minor to possess alcohol. She was freed on $2,500 bond for July 11 appearance at Norwalk Superior Court.

On June 29, Hayden Vos turned himself in to police and was charged with failure to halt possess alcohol by a minor. He was freed on $2,500 bond for a July 13 appearance at Norwalk Superior Court.

The charges are misdemeanors.

In the warrants, New Canaan police noted that Jim Vos was uncooperative with officers when they arrived at the home after 3 a.m. May 30 to investigate. At one point he told officers, "I am not going to answer any questions period,” the warrant said.

Jim and Hayden Vos also told officers that Sophie Vos was asleep and would not allow officers to talk to her, the warrant said.

The warrant also said a number of the partygoers were from out-of-state and were sleeping at the New Canaan home.
