Suspect Charged In Crack Sales To Undercover Norwalk Officers

NORWALK, Conn. – Another Norwalk man has been accused of street-level drug sales by the police Special Service Division, police said.

Special Services Division undercover officers contacted Jason Simmons, 24, of West Cedar Street on two occasions over the summer, according to police reports. Both times Simmons agreed to meet with the officers in different locations in Norwalk and sold them crack-cocaine, police said.

Investigators got an arrest warrant for Simmons earlier this month. While on a call Tuesday, officers saw Simmons and arrested him on the warrant, according to police reports.

Simmons was charged with two counts of the sale of narcotics, with added charges for being within 1,500 feet of a school. His bond was set to $150,000, and he is due in court on Oct. 4.

Lt. James Walsh, head of Norwalk’s Special Services Division, said Wednesday that his unit has focused on street-level dealers recently. Norwalk Police made two similar arrests last week based on undercover investigations, according to police reports.
