NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was  accused of stealing more than $200 worth of baby formula from a Norwalk store Wednesday, Jan. 29, according to police reports.

Norwalk Police officers on patrol saw a man being chased by another man along West Avenue at about 11:40 a.m. The officers followed the two and learned that the second man was an employee of Norwalk Marketplace.

The man told police that a suspect was seen hiding cans of baby formula in his coat, police said. When told to leave by a female employee, the suspect shoved the woman to the ground and fled on foot with the items, according to the witness’ report. The store reported that 11 cans of formula were stolen, with a total value of $209.

Garcia was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree robbery and interfering with police. His bond was set at $1,500, and he is due in court on Feb. 7.
