NORWALK, Conn. -- One year after a woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Norwalk, the state of Connecticut is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible.
The accident took place at around 9:30 p.m. on May 11, 2016 on Van Buren Avenue near the intersection with Bedford Avenue. Police said that two pedestrians were hit by a gray BMW, which was last seen fleeing south on Van Buren Avenue.
The BMW is believed to have sustained front and right side damage, including a missing right side mirror, which remained at the scene, police said. Both pedestrians, a male and a female, were taken to Norwalk Hospital. The woman, Jaime Lane, later succumbed to her injuries.
"On this, the one-year anniversary of Jaime’s death, we ask that anyone with any information come forward and contact us," Norwalk Police said.
