Police had responded to the area of Old Lantern Place at around 2 p.m. Saturday when a resident reported a suspicious person, according to the Hour. They had also received a similar report of a suspicious person dressed in black on nearby East Rocks Road, the Hour reported.

When officers arrived, they found 45-year-old Shawana Smith of Stamford walking away from the area, and when they tried to stop her she ignored their orders, police told the Hour. She screamed at officers and at one point kicked one in the leg, the Hour reported.

Smith was charged with third-degree trespass and interfering with an officer. It was also discovered that she had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court, according to the Hour.
