Charged with third-degree larceny is Akeem Ali, 19, of 54 Howard Ave., Norwalk.

Police said a 40-year-old woman at the Commons Park Street complex returned to her apartment on July 28 and discovered her charger was missing as well as $60 she had left for for the maid service.

She reported it to a manager, who asked Ali who had the electronic master key that day whether he was in the unit, police said. He denied he was although the computer records indicated he had entered the apartment at 12:24 p.m. and left a minute later only to return at 12:53 and leave again a minute later, police said.

Management called police. During his police interview, Ali eventually confessed and expressed his remorse over the incident, Sgt. Kelly Connelly said.

He was arrested Monday. The date for his first court appearance was unavailable.
