South Norwalk Bank Robbed; Police Hunt For Suspect

NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk police are searching for a suspect in the robbery of a bank in South Norwalk late Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery at the Chase Bank at 50 Washington St. in SoNo was first reported at 3:56 p.m. Police said a white man in his 40s entered the bank and passed a note to a teller. He was able to steal an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing, according to police.

Police were still searching the area as of 5:45 p.m. The Detective Bureau is investigating the case.

The scene of the robbery was roped off by yellow police tape, with a number of police vehicles in the area and officers investigating.
