NORWALK, Conn. -- Six people were taken to Norwalk Hospital for injuries sustained in a crash Sunday afternoon involving a dump truck and three other vehicles, the Norwalk Fire Department said.

The wreck occurred at Fairfield Avenue and Flax Hill Road in South Norwalk at about 2:20 p.m.

The Norwalk Police Department and Norwalk Fire Department arrived within less than two minutes and found a small box truck on its side, a Chevy Malibu pinned against a telephone pole, a dump truck and a Norwalk Taxi cab, Deputy Fire Chief Chris King said in a statement.

Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to remove the roof of the Malibu and remove of the one male victims, King said.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, he said.

The taxi sustained rear end damage and the dump truck had front end damage. All four vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The wreck is under investigation by the Norwalk Police Department.
