Officers were dispatched at about midnight April 15 to a Gardiner Street residence along with Darien EMS on a report of a 16-year-old girl who was “semi-conscious,” police said.
Upon arrival, officers said it was apparent that the girl was "heavily intoxicated," police said.
According to her father, the girl had called him for a ride and he had picked her up from a Shady Acres Road residence several minutes earlier, police said. She was subsequently transported to the hospital by Darien EMS.
Officers then went to the Shady Acres Road home and found remnants of a party, police said.
While checking the outside, officers detained a male juvenile who had attempted to flee, police said. Officers determined he was intoxicated and released him to a parent.
A second juvenile male was found and identified as the 17-year-old resident of the home, police said.
Officers checking the inside of the home for other incapacitated youths found seven 30 packs of beer along with a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
On April 20, the 17-year-old resident and his parent met with Darien Police Youth Detectives. He was issued a summons for providing alcohol to minors, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 2.
