NORWALK, Conn. A stolen vehicle was recovered late Sunday after a car chase, Norwalk Police said. Three people were arrested. The driver was charged with reckless driving.
The red Prius was stolen from Center Avenue, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. A police officer on patrol near Norwalk Hospital spotted it on Magnolia Avenue at about 10:30 p.m., as it had no front license plate. He tried to stop the vehicle, which fled, running through a stop sign before being stopped.
The plate on the rear of the vehicle was stolen from the Yankee Doodle Garage, Cotto said. Both the driver and his front seat passenger were charged as youthful offenders. Alyssa Costanzo of 36 Glendale Ave., Bridgeport, who turned 18 on June 15, was charged as an adult.
All were charged with misuse of a plate, possession of a stolen plate, conspiracy and larceny first degree. The driver was also charged with reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic signal.
