NORWALK, Conn. – A 24-year-old Stamford man was arrested Wednesday after police said he assaulted his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot at Norwalk Hospital on Maple Street.
Michael Hill, of Lawn Avenue, is accused of grabbing his ex-girlfriend by the ears and strangling her during an argument in the hospital parking lot just before 4 p.m.
Hill had driven the unnamed woman to the hospital for an appointment, and the pair got into an argument when he went to pick her up, according to Lt. Praveen John.
The two argued and fought in his car, and the woman screamed and fought back as Hill was allegedly strangling her, police said. She was able to exit the vehicle, run into the hospital and ask for help, according to police.
Police said Hill drove off and was later apprehended at his home by Stamford police, who turned him over to the Norwalk department.
Hill was charged with third-degree strangulation, breach of peace, third-degree assault, and unlawful restraint; all misdemeanors. He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday.
