Patrick Prendergast, 68, was issued a misdemeanor summons on a charge of threatening. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11.

Police received a report Monday morning from a 75 year-old resident of Runkenhage Road who said Prendergast had threatened him with a gun, according to police.

He said Prendergast had plowed a neighbor's driveway and was moving the snow onto his driveway. He walked over to complain to Prendergast, at which point Prendergast pulled out an ice scraper and threatened to hit him, police said. Then Prendergast told the man he had a gun in his truck, according to police reports.

Prendergast had left the scene by the time officers arrived, but they quickly located him, according to police.

He told officers the 75-year-old man had complained for 10 years about his snow plowing and leaf blowing, and that he had become frustrated. He said that he had threatened the man, but did not actually have a gun, which police confirmed. Prendergast apologized and was issued a summons to appear in court.
