NORWALK, Conn. – Five car burglaries were reported in the same Norwalk neighborhood early Tuesday morning, and Norwalk Police said they believe they have the suspect on video.
Three of the break-ins were reported on Canfield Crossing Tuesday morning. The other two occurred on Gilbert Street and Marvin Street, within a mile of the other burglaries, according to police reports.
The items reported missing included a $500 pair of Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses, an HP ProBook laptop, an iPhone and a briefcase.
One of the Canfield Crossing homes had a motion-activated camera system outside the house, which turned on at about 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, police said. A white male weighing approximately 145 pounds, wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt, was seen on the video, according to the police report.
Four of the five cars showed no signs of forced entry, police said. The Gilbert Street car, which contained the computer, had a damaged lock after the incident, according to the police report.
“I can’t stress enough how important it is to please lock your doors,” Sgt. Lisa Cotto of the Norwalk Police said.
