Peter John Tinnen-Strmiska, a kindergartner at Silvermine Elementary School, was struck last Thursday by a car pulling into the driveway of his grandparents’ home at 7 Woodacre Road.

The car was driven by a 75-year-old male relative, and police have determined it was a tragic accident, The Hour reported.

Peter’s heartbroken mother, Kayla Tinnen, who had already set up a GoFundMe page because of financial difficulties, amended it to raise money for her son’s funeral.

According to the GoFundMe post, she said she had lost her job, was struggling with medical bills because of her Crohn’s disease and was about to be evicted from her home when her youngest child was killed.

Tinnen said that, because she has no savings, she was seeking help with Peter’s burial costs.

So far the GoFundMe campaign has raised $48,025.

According to his obituary, visitation for Peter will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford.

A service of celebration will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Beginnings Community Church, 65 Tokeneke Road, Darien.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.

Peter is survived by his mother; his father, Peter Strmiska; siblings, Charles and China; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Laura Tinnen; an uncle; an aunt; several cousins; and other relatives and friends.
