NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was hit with a beer bottle during a fight on Wall Street early Sunday morning, police said.
Police received a call of about 20 people fighting outside El Mexicano bar on Wall Street at about 2 a.m., Sunday, according to police reports. When officers arrived at least two of the men continued fighting, despite warnings to stop, police said.
When the two refused to stop the fight officers used a stun gun on Henry Fernandez, 27, of Orchard Street. The other suspect, Estuardo Lopez, 43, of Main Street continued to punch Fernandez, according to the police report.
Investigators found that Lopez had also broken a beer bottle on Fernandez’s face earlier in the fight, police said. The two were taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, and then arrested.
Lopez was charged with second-degree assault and a breach of the peace, and released on a $5,000 bond. Fernandez was charged with third-degree assault and breach of the peace, and released on a $2,500 bond.
