A Washington Village resident called police at about 3:40 a.m. Thursday to report that her 10-year-old son might be in danger, according to police reports. When officers arrived, she explained that she had allowed Darius Manigold, 30, of Woodward Avenue to stay on her couch that night, police said.
The woman said she came downstairs and found Manigold naked and yelling, police said. Manigold also threw objects into the wall while screaming, she told told police. The woman believes he was under the influence of PCP, according to the police report.
Manigold chased her upstairs, but she returned downstairs to keep Manigold away from her son, who was in a locked upstairs bedroom at the time, according to the police report. She got her son out of the home through a second-story window via a nearby tree and took him to a neighbor’s house, police said. The child and the woman were not harmed in the incident, police said.
Officers arrived and arrested Manigold after a brief struggle, police said. He was charged with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor and interfering with police and held on $5,000 bond. Manigold was then taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.
