Authorities from both towns have been in contact with each other and are pooling resources, police announced Thursday.

The Linden robbery was committed Aug. 20 by a white male believed to be in his 20s with a Spanish accent, about 5-foot-8 and with a medium build. He fled the bank on foot after taking an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The Greenwich robbery occurred Aug. 28 at the bank branch at 410 Greenwich Ave. The suspect's description was similar to the one in the Linden robbery.

After the Greenwich robbery, Metro-North trains were stopped for an hour near the train station while police searched the area for the suspect.

An off-duty police officer spotted someone fitting the man's description getting into a silver compact car with a New York license plate starting with "ANX."

Anyone with information is asked to contact or Greenwich police detectives at 203-622-3620 or Linden police detectives at 908-474-8537.
