A woman told Fairfield officers that a man who had been harassing her two years earlier had begun again, police said. David Osler, 34 of Norwalk, had been a friend two years ago but when he began making uncomfortable overtures, such as leaving flowers on her car window several times a week, she cut off the relationship, police said.
She told officers that on Mother's Day she received a short text from Osler and she responded in kind, police said. He then began to text her in earnest, the flowers resumed and he showed up uninvited at her workplace in Fairfield on Friday afternoon, police said.
Police reached out to Osler mid-afternoon. While waiting for him to return their call, officers found an active warrant for his arrest in Stratford on a charge of first-degree reckless endangerment.
Osler went at the station to give his side of the harassment charge and was placed under arrest for the active warrant, police said.
On the harassment allegations, he told officers that he and the complainant had been dating and that he had all of the texts she sent him recently, police said.
Fairfield officers charged Osler with violation of probation in the reckless endangerment case and held him on $100,000 bond. He was taken to court on Tuesday but no details were available.
